XP route table

When you look at the xp route table your local segment it
has a metric of 20. In w2k it is set for 1 which makes
sense. Anyone know what is going on here?

Windows XP automatically computes a metric based on the rated speed of
the network connection associated with the route. That should give a
faster connection (like 100 Mb wired Ethernet) preference over a
slower connection (like wireless Ethernet) on a computer that connects
to both types of networks. Details here:
