XP repair help

I've attempted to repair my XP pro OS. I couldn't install any cdrom
drivers.
The repair halts, displays a dialogue box and is asking for "asms" file. How
do I recover this file. But I don't know where to locate the path to the
needed files... any and all help will be greatly appreciated...
