I've got a partitioned hard drive which is split into 4
sections. I have windows xp pro running on my E: drive
and want to wipe my comuter clean and reinstall xp
putting it on C:. I've tried formatting c: but windows
cannot complete the format for some reason. And every
time I try to install windows XP again after reboot it
only gives me the previous E: selection and asks if I
want to either repair it or not before install. I don't
want to do either. I want to install xp on the C: drive
but have no choice. Please help.

If you are trying to erase all partitions the best way is
to put in a boot disk and run fdisk. That will allow you
to completely erase everything and start out like a new
hard drive. Which will in turn allow you to install it on
the c drive.
