XP reinstall

I reinstalled XP - Home and no longer can select 'Connect
using broadband connection that requires a user name and
password' under the New Connection Wizard.

I have followed the instructions in the Microsoft
Knowledge Base Article - 320558 "Dial-up Modem or PPPoE
Option in New Connection Wizard Is Unavailable" to no
avail!

I followed both methods and also tried to re-install both
from Windows and from CD. No Luck!

Now when I try to following the instuctions in the article
regarding deleting the registry entries for Telephony, it
does not even exist.

THE ANSWER WAS GIVEN TO ME BY CALLING DELL TECH SUPPORT.
SINCE DELL INSTALLED XP ORIGINALLY, I CALLED THEM!!!
THE DIRECTED ME TO REMOVE SPECIFIC REGISTRY ENTRIES
- NOT THE ONES MICROSOFT TOLD ME TO DO!

WORKS FINE NOW

NO EXPLAINATION AS TO WHY OR HOW TO AVOID IN THE FUTURE!

The keys you deleted where probably
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan\PPP\EAP\25

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan\PPP\EAP\26

The keys you were told to delete by Microsoft cause the same issue. The
following articles are the only two that I can find that list these two
keys.

You receive "Remote Access Connection Manager" and "Remote Assistance
