XP reinstall - Hard drive imaging program

Hi,
I have had a few problems with system restore and "administrative
privileges" (posted earlier). I am thinking of just reinstalling XP-Pro (OEM)
and then reinstalling SP2. I have read in many posts that reinstall should
keep all the programs and files intact but its a good idea to back up.
What programs do you guys suggest for creating a backup of the hard-disk
(with all the programs and files)?

Thanks,
XPPro user

Here's my 2 cents on the issue... I have used Norton Ghost for a while now
and find it to be a very good program. I have used it at work and at home
for creating images of my OS's installed after I get everything I want on
them. One nice feature it has is ghost explorer which will allow you to
open the image file and view it in an explorer like shell which you can then
extract/recover files off that image. I've also used DriveImage but stopped
using it after I switched to Ghost. Personal version 9 of Ghost goes for
around $70. It currently supports Windows XP Home/XP Pro/2000 Pro. If you

Hello XPPro user,
Before you perform the Re-install there is another process that frequently
heals many adverse events. Have you verified the integrity of your XP
Protected Files? This process repairs any and all corruptions created by
SpyWare and many Trojans and is very simple. If your Protected Files are
Intact the process requires approximatly 30 to 45 minutes. The best learning
part, if the process requires 1 or 2 hours for completing that is glaring
confirmation your Protected Files were corrupted.

Follow this simple process: insert your XP CD, when the screen opens
allowing you the option to Exit Setup, click Yes, Exit. Then, click start,
then click Run, when the Run Window opens type this command: sfc /scannow
-automically the XP CD scans and corrects errors within Windows Protected
Files. By the way, when that process is performed, previous XP System Restore
Points vanish and a new Restore Point begins at the conclusion of; sfc
/scannow

Occansionally, I perform the above for comfirming or denying some un-known
applicaion (as SpyWare and Trojans) has not violated XP Protected Files.

A really great program from Acronis True image incorporates Cloning one
drive to another drive as well as making an Image of a partition or a
complete drive.
Personally i like the Cloning best as i can just hook in the clone drive and
boot the computer with no muss or fuss.
