xp regedit and task manager

my regedit and task managee close right after they open so
i can not do anything to make it run

w32.spybot worm disables NAV, Msconfig, Regedit and Task Manager:

Rename regedit.exe to regedit.com then:

Download then Merge the edit on line 251 then delete all the files mentioned
in the above link.

That's most likely because a virus is shutting them down as soon as they
open. You'll need to scan the system with an updated virus scanner, but
that can be hard to do if the virus is actually running. Try one of the
free online virus scanners to get a handle on the system:

Once the system is cleaned - and bear in mind that the restore points are
also probably infected and are thus dangerous - install and keep updated a
good virus scanner.
