I am looking for a reference book for windows XP. I am reasonably
knowledgeable on windows but the security aspect of XP has me a little
buffaloed. I would like a book that will explain what each setting does and
how security works. Essentially, however I am using XP Pro at home, and what
I want to do is set things up so everyone can use the computer but they have
to go through me (administrator) to install software. Open to all
suggestions. I am in Canada if that makes a difference.

Please not this is cross-posted for maximum coverage.

yes, I'd vote for "Windows XP Inside Out" also. It's large,
comprehensive, and has a CD w/ the entire ebook on it so you can install
it on your HD and refer to it very easily when at the computer. There is a
regular and a deluxe edition, they're pretty much the same really. About
$40 USA as I recall, less if you buy it on-line. If at a bookstore always
look thru their entire stock for the most recent printing [on the
copyright page].

I've reviewed many others, this is the book to beat.
