We have about 40 machines this is affecting now & the
number seems to rise by the hour. We are running th
Novell client and have our machines set up to
automatically update. I heard rumor that MS released
SP1a. Is it out yet & if so could it cause this
problem? This started yesterday. When XP is running, if
you move the mouse, it reboots like you pushed the reset
button. You can use the keyboard and do whatever you
want, as long as you don't touch the mouse. Has anybody
had this yet? Thanks.

It has been out for some time already! SP1a does not contain the Java
Virtual Machine, as per the court ruling in favor to Sun.

Ar you running a good up to date anti-virus system accross the network?
This seems to look like a "worm" type virus.

SP1 contained Microsoft's version of Java. SP1a does not contain any Java.
Microsoft will not distribute Sun's version.

Have you checked for "spyware", trojans and worms? By the way, how recent
are the amt-virus definitions for Norton?
