I had a NT Authority Service shutdown issue. I disabled
the RPC and remorte access services and was able to make
the computer run for more than 60 seconds as defined by
the shutdown screen.

I went to re-install my XP Pro and got about 1/2 way when
I received errors involved with the install.

"Fatal Error - Setup failed to install the product
catalogs - this is a fatal error

I rebooted and am now stuck in a loop...I can not run the
computer and I can not install the operating system...now
what!

Ooopps.
Perform an In-Place Upgrade (Reinstallation) of Windows XP http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q315341
Do a Repair Install of XP - by Michael Stevens - IMPORTANT http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm#warning1

Format and start over. You do have backups of your important stuff, right.
