Norton quarantined the following 5 items: (1) aolmsngr.exe, (2) bestfriends[2}scr,
(3) products3_off, (4) syslaunch.exe, (5) webcam[1].scr because of the virus BACKDOOR.SDBOT.

Does SYSTEM RESTORE replace these quarantined items with the original items or do I have to replace them? If so, how? How critical are they? Norton was not able to restore/repair these items. I also deleted these items from quarantine. My system appears to be running OK. I don't want any suprises later, however!

Thanks so much for any help.

When Norton quarantines a virus, you should delete it from quarantine
and not attempt to repair it since it is a virus. System Restore only
restores Windows XP system files, however, some viruses are known
to infect the System Restore folder. Perform a thorough virus scan
using Norton, and if it reports no viruses, you do not have to worry.

Neither. You are mistakenly assuming that these are Windows
files that the virus corrupted. That's not the case. These are
not Windows files, but are virus files that the virus *added* to
your system.

You don't want them back.
