Does profiles share the programs or does each profile have its own set of
programs attached to it.

For example in profiles A and B, they both run Outlook. If I go to
add/delete and delete outlook for profile A does it effect profile B.

Thanks

Add/Delete where ? Regedit? Add/Remove? Right-click on item in Windows
Explorer?
There are many different places that you can add/delete, and if you don't
pick the correct one, you may screw up everyone's access to 'Outlook' (or
whatever you delete).

I tried it and deleted the program from both the profiles and I had to
reinstall, which leads me to believe that the 2nd profile is not independent
and therefore can be manipulated anyway I want.

Thanks for the advice.

Hi,

Depends on the program. Some install globally, some for only the one user
account.

How did you delete? In case you ever want to do this again ... do you want
to know the correct way to do this?

Sure. I am new to XP but not Windows although I don't have alot of
experience on the operating system side of the software.

Thanks

Sorry, I went to start, control panel, System Properties the user profiles
and selected the user profile I didn't want and then deleted. However, the
profile was not completely deleted but now cannot be accessed. So I guessing
it was the wrong way to delete a profile.

To Delete an Account:

1. Control Panel | User Accounts, click on user name
2. Click on Delete account

To remove access to only a program for one user:

If have multiple users:

1. Check C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs
2. Copy Shortcut (either Folder or File)
3. Open C:\Documents and Settings\[USERNAMES TO HAVE ACCESS]\Start
Menu\Programs, Right-click, Paste
4. Open C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs and delete
Folder or Files.
5. Open C:\Documents and Settings\[USERNAME TO REMOVE ACCESS TO
PROGRAM]\Start Menu\Programs, delete folder or files

If wishing to remove for the entire system:

Use Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs and click on program to delete.

If installed only under user who you do not want access to:

1. Open C:\Documents and Settings\[USERNAME TO REMOVE ACCESS TO
PROGRAM]\Start Menu\Programs, delete folder or files
