2) What posting the model number of your hard drive going to accomplish?
I just happen to know that's a Segate Barracuda, but not everyone is.

Though you gave links to assist in proper posting, you should avail yourself for proper sentence composition while you're at it! I added words in parentheses to highlight your gibberish.

On 'avails oneself of'.. one does not 'avail oneself for'..

LOL, read your crappy statement again!

My usage was perfectly acceptable since I stated "avail yourself" . (I was referring to MPT in the 2nd person, so don't cop a plea)

Avail (1.noun: 2.verb)
1 : to be of use or advantage to
2 : to result in : bring about <his efforts availed him nothing>
- avail oneself of : also, avail of : to make use of : take advantage of

Above def would also apply to myself, yourself, his/herself, theirselves etc.
For what it's worth, Word spellcheck doesn't flag any grammatical errors
with either version.

Your original quote.. ".. you should avail yourself for proper sentence

Read it again

I know, Mike, I've just re-read that and I'm so ashamed of my appalling
grammar! As an English major I pride myself on my English usage and then I
go and type something like that. Rest assured, I have printed it out and
have pinned it on my corkboard to remind me never to make the same grave
mistake again. You're right - it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever!

Yours ashamed

Yea, and read your original reply; I can ignore any correction by you, when you don't avoid making your own mistakes!

Tom

One avails oneself OF... one does not avail oneself FOR

The issue here is the part that I have highlighted in caps..
