xp problem

I have a toshiba satellite 2410-601 laptop. when turning the pc on a popup appears saying modf, this again reappears when connecting to the net. When on the net pop ups appear trying to close the browser down, also pop ups have appeared shutting the pc down with RPC problems. the web has also slowed down. please can anyone help
 
Hi Lee,

First, download and run stinger from http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ then
restart in Safe mode and run it. Afterwards, update your antivirus software
and run a full system scan.

Then work on the spyware programs that are infesting your system.

1) Install and run Adaware from www.lavasoft.de

2) Install and run Spybot from www.safer-networking.org

3) Install and run Spyware Blaster from
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

4) Turn on the native firewall or install a third-party one (a third party
firewall will notify you of outgoing traffic as spyware programs "phone
home", the native one won't).

Hi !

There are possiblities that you might be affected with a certain kind of bug which infects RPC which stands for
Remote Procedure Call.

Your system shutting down with certain kind of pop up window coming up are one of the symptoms.

Log on to microsoft's security updates link for rectifying this error.
