Using XP home with all the current updates/patches, I've
noticed missing system tray icons (e.g., McAfee virus
scan, sound volume icon). I've done the usual basic
troubleshooting steps (tried the task properties for auto-
hide icons; verifued the systray settings in the sound
panel, McAfee program; even reinstalled & repaired McAfee
7.0). No success--then I noticed many other people on the
web having this problem.
Finally went to www.grc.com and downloaded unplug plug-and-
play and the icons returned. Seems to me there's a
software glitch in XP.
