I recently installed Windows XP Pro and converted my

manually.

1. Delete the Windows XP partition.
2. Create a new partition.
3. Format the new partition.
4. Install your desired Operating System.

What do you want to install in place of XP Pro?

About the only possible choice would be XP Home. There is no other
available version of Windows that will be able to use the version of
NTFS that comes with Windows XP.

Your only options, if you want to revert to some other version of
Windows, would be to delete the existing partition thereby destroying
everything on it and then create a new empty partition of a type
(FAT32 or older NTFS) that is compatible with whatever version of
Windows you want to use. Then format that partition, install Windows
followed by the application programs and then restore your user data
files from backups.

It might be easier to resolve whatever problems you are encountering
with Windows XP.

Good luck
