I get parse or file error can not read \i386\asm folder on the CD, this is
after the first reboot, and it says it's got 39 mins to go.
Seen a few work arounds, like copy the I386 folder of the CD drive to the
hard drive, still got the same error, also tried two CD roms, and 3
different XP disc !
Using a new Samsung 40 gig HD.
Looked for some chipset drivers to load at the F6 prompt, but there don't
seem to be any.
Also updated to latest bios

Thanks

Hmm no !
What I have also found was the keyboard sometimes does not stay detected.
Plus I have now tried a XP home disc and it worked ! !
Also on one of the failed attempts got an error that stated a syntax error
in SXS.dll, file i386\asma\6000\msft\windows\common\controls\control.man on
line 0
So compared the Pro files with the Home files, the XP home was a lot newer,
same size, and the one I could open in notepad looked identical.
Anyway copied the XP home files from above folder in to the i386 XP Pro
folder I had copied onto the hard drive. Overwriting them, rebooted with out
CD in and pointed the set-up to the Hard drive i386 and not the CD version.
In a word it worked !
As lots of files were need I got bored redirecting the set-up to my hard
drive, so put the CD back in, and it finished off automatically. Seems the
XP Pro CD has an error since corrected in the home version......don't you
just love windows !

Time will tell if it stays working !
