Can anyone tell me exactly what is needed for group membership,
admin....etc.... which would enable an xp pro client to both install
programs on their local machine as well as be a member to a win2k domain?
I'm reading some doc's which would appear they both have to be the same but
I don't think you'd want everyone who has permission to install on their
local machine to be admin on domain. Thanks for any help.

You can make the domain user account a member of the built-in administrators
group on the local machine. You must log onto the computer with local
Administrators group rights in order to do this. By default domain
administrators will be a member of this group. Right click My Computer and
select Manage. Expand Local Users and Groups, click on Groups and double
click Administrators. Click the Add button and change the focus to the
domain. You can then add user domain user/group accounts to the local
Administrators group without changing their domain rights.
