I'm trying to set up PPTP access to my machine which is a part of an AD
domain. I'm able to make the VPN connection from another machine on the LAN
but can't get to it from outside. I have other VPN servers (Win2KS) on the
network and they're working fine. My firewall and my Cisco router are both
configured to allow GRE and TCP:1723 through to the XP machine. I keep
checking the event logs on both ends but there are no Remote Access messages
in either one. What am I missing?

I guess you have ensured the internal firewall on the XP is off!

I would enable logging/tracing on the remote client, and see what
turned up.

Not a chance! As I said it works from inside the network. If the ICF was
on, it wouldn't. I can see GRE packets flying through my router and the
firewall and yet I can't make a connection.

Hi Jack, have you tried using pptpclnt.exe & pptpsrv.exe tools to make sure
GRE packets and TCP 1723 are making their way to your XP system from a
remote connection?
