Not sure -- but probably that will help: after a fresh restart empty all
temporary folders. By default, they are:
c:\windows\temp
and
"C:\Documents and Settings\<user_name>\Local Settings\Temp"
Delete ALL files and subfolders within these folders: read-only, system,
hidden -- all the more. If some of files here are un use -- windows will
refuse delete them with the wording something like "File is using by the
other process" -- remain such, and only such files intact.
Disable also antivirus -- prior to installing the update.
