I have two computers running XP professional, they are
connected to a SMC barricade router/firewall via CAT5
cables and ethernet
cards. I have run the networking wizard on both computers
to ensure the correct settings for both. Both computers
can only see themselves under the MSHOME network. I
cannot get them to see the other computer or share
printers. I would eventually like to connect a dsl modem
to the the SMC barricade for an internet connection.

What am I doing wrong???

Thanks for the help in advance,
Mike

1. connection: The first question I always ask is if you can ping. if not,
compare ipconfig /all or post it here.
2.Access the internet: setup Internet Connection Sharing.

Make sure ICF is permanently turned off on both PCs, for the
connection to the router; ICF inhibits sharing via LANs. If that
does not cure your problem, the next step is to temporarily
remove all other firewall and antivirus software. Make sure
both PCs are DHCP clients, and that the router's DHCP server
is enabled.
