I have two laptops at home, mine running XP Home edition and one from
work running XP Professional, which is on the network at work through
a VPN (once I log in). Both are connected to my cable modem by a
wireless router, connecting wirelessly without problems.

What I want to do seems simple: I want to operate one computer from
the other, that is, I'm at the work laptop all the time and have it
connected to my extermal mointor and so on, and I'd like to be able to
access the home laptop from the work laptop.

I've tried networking and nothing works, after following step by step
instructions to install an app from Microsoft called "network setup"
it told me it can't because the work machine is "on a domain".

I've tried various other things and the closest I've gotten is logging
into the one computer from the other over the Internet (Citrix remote
pc) but it's slow and not what I need.

Any advice welcome. Thanks.

Hi
Depending on how the work laptop was configured.
1. It might Not be possible at all.
2. It might be possible but the changes made might compromise the work
laptop, and thus work's network security.
3. It does not worth the risk of reprisal when playing with work relates
equipment (In many organizations.
If you desperately need two laptops there is new Laptop for less than $500
(or decent uses one for less than $250).
