XP pro to XP Home Edition

I bought a pen tablet computer with a version of XP pro that I can't activate
because I don't own the software. How can I replace the XP Pro with XP Home
Edition which I do own?
 
No. You'll have to contact the manufacturer of the Tablet PC
and request a replacement CD for Windows XP Tablet PC Edition.

Can you be a bit more specific about what you mean by "...bought a pen
tablet computer with a version of XP pro that I can't activate because I
don't own the software ... "

If you do own a valid Windows XP Home license that is NOT BEING USED ON AN
OTHER PC (one license per PC) then you just boot from that CD and follow the
on screen prompts.

The nuts and bolts that create the handwritten aspects of the tablet PC
platform are built around XP Pro. Installing XP Home means that you will
lose these features.

The XP tablet PC version is OEM only (and through MSDN for testing purposes
which doesn't help). The installation disks provide no benefit to the
previous owner if they kept them. Can you contact them for the disks that
came with the system? If no, contact the tablet PC manufacturer to find out
if you can obtain replacement disks.
