xp pro sp1a clean install

Will windows update offer me updates if I wipe my system and start new?

All so my trend micro 2008 only supports sp2. so I will have to get sp2 as
soon as possable. any suggestions or things I should do before I try to
install sp2 from a fesh install of sp1a disk. BTW thats all I have a sp1a cd.
and the slipstreams I have made in the past do not work.

Yes, windows updates will offer you all the updates including the SP2.
Try to slipstream the SP2 by following these steps here:
Slipstreaming Windows XP with Service Pack 2

If you will not be able to slipstream the SP2 and perform a clean install of
the Operating system, you will need to be careful and get the updates first
and don't browse to any website before installing your Trend micro security
software.
