Every time I select Start>Programs>Administrative
Tools>Performance.
Also happens when I try to use a 3rd party defrag tool
that plugs into the Microsoft Management Console.

All current critical updates applied.
Dual 2.8 Xeons
2G reg ECC RAM
2x 18G u320 SCSI 15k RPM HD RAID 0
36G u320 SCSI HD (page file & back-ups)
3dlabs wildcat4 7210 with latest driver.

Any clues anyone?
I re-formatted & re-installed windos 4 times to try to
identify what was causing the problem but in the end had
to make this a production machine & just try to avoid the
problem.

Right click My Computer, Properties, Advanced, settings for startup
and recovery and then remove the checkbox Automatically restart.

Also check the Event Viewer for any messages on why the machine
rebooted...

Hello, When i had this problem it was random reboot for
no reason. Problem ended up being one of the hard drives
in my RAID 0. Replaced bad drive and haven't had problem
since.
