Hello,
First of all, i will say that the copy of Windows XP Pro that i am about to talk about, is entirely LEGAL
----------------
I have a rather urgent problem; I got a copy of windows XP Pro with a Gateway laptop just under 1 yr ago, i decided to upgrade my Dell laptop with this copy.
So i installed it, and everything was fine untill i had to activate windows, i typed in the serial number on the bottom of the gateway laptop. only to find that gateway had put an XP Home serial number on it. so it will not activate.
I am not willing to pay £200 for a new serial number, because it is gateway's fault.
I phoned "their" technical support who never sell gateways and don't know a thing about them becasue it is fun by another company. the guy over the phone could not help me, so i have emailed the american support, and am waiting for a reply.
I have 29 days until the laptop will stop working
Thanks,
KGB
