Greetings, What is the difference between XP pro SP1 and
RTM ? The
MS update catalog lists XP-SP1 and XP-RTM. I would like to
download the
correct files for a reinstall of XP-PRO, however there is
nothing on the
XP packaging that makes the distinction between the two
flavors.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration
Mike H.

Greetings --

"RTM" usually means "Released To Manufacturing," and is normally
applied to a product at the end of its testing cycle. Hence an RTM
version of WinXP should refer to the original product released in
October of 2001, while the version with SP1 (Service Pack 1) will
include the patches and hotfixes available at the time of Service
Pack1's release last year.
