XP Pro Power User

I have a XP Pro SP2 box that went from a workgroup to a domain then back to
the same workgroup. The problem is the only user now is a power user with
limited local rights and he needs local admin rights.

I believe he has been logging into the box all along as the admin with the
exception of the brief domain stay. How can i get the admin account activated
so I can move him to the admin group. I tried the Ctrl/Alt/Delete twice at
the login screen but it did not work.

Pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del twice at the Welcome screen is the method used for
bringing up the classic log on screen. If he has the system set for
automatic logon, try pressing Shift once Windows starts loading instead.

As for the login screen, He does get to the login screen to input his user
name and password log into the local machine. He has had this all along. If I
performed an in -place repair would the procedure allow for creating another
admin profile? If so, then I could add the user to the administrators group.
Any thought on this?

Unless the account was renamed, there is at least one local Administrator
account. This is a default account and is hidden if there are other
accounts on the system. (Note: If there are no folders for the account, it
means that no one has ever logged on with the account since these folders
are created the first time that the account logs on successfully.)

Since you have no problem getting to the classic logon screen (sorry,
thought that was the issue in the last post), all that's left to do is to
type in Administrator as the user name and a password. If XP was
preinstalled, the password field needs no entry.
