here's my problem, i burnt my XP Pro on a CD-R, and i just bought a new
laptop that has Home Edition. What i want to do is wipe it out and install XP
Pro, but when i come to boot the CD-R, it wont boot from the boot menu. Help
Please.

The reason I dont wanna use the Original is cause, I have a few clients and
if they ever need XP i want to use the CD-R. I wanna keep the origanl to
myself, I know I could use the original, but i want to make sure that I can
also use the CD-R.

I know I can use the original, but I want to use the CD-R to make sure it
works. I have a few clients and if they ever need Xp, well i will have it.
That's why i want to figure this out, so I could use my CD-R.

What kind of CD? Options are:
1. Bootable clone of installation CD
2. Non-booting copy of installation CD
3. Booting ISO (image file) of OS updated by SPs.

From the OP's description, I guess that he has a non-booting copy of the
installation CD. It just lacks a few things like the MBR.

Perhaps what he needs is #1. Acronis True Image can make a clone of an
installation CD on another CD, at least as far as I can tell.

What kind of CD?

Most probably a Pirated one. If he can prove to me that the original is a VL version
and how many Cal's it contains then I might be up to help him out

It's not a pirated one, the original I got from my IT teacher, It's a
bootable clone of the installation CD, me and my teacher made copy's of it at
school, and we installed some on the computurs at school, but like I said,
it's not working on my laptop.

1. Multiple copies of the IT teachers' own disk looks like piracy.

2. No post has yet confirmed the laptop BIOS has been configured
to boot from the CD before the HDD.

I have changed the boot order, so that it boots from the CD first, but it
still goes right to the OS, and it's not piracy.

I did, if you say so, anyway I will figure it out, thanks for all the help.

It seem that the "new" PC might not have the optical drive that can be
started from the CD-R.
