XP Pro Not Starting

When I turn my computer on it comes up with white writing
like it should. But then it just goes black and will not
come up with the screen with XP and then a loading bar.
What should I do to fix it?
 
Try going to safe mode tapping F-8 whil the computer is
starting try a system restore to a time when the computer
was starting
If can't get to safe mode try last known good
configuration from advanced startup options also F-8
If that fails may need to repair or reload Windows
