XP Pro Networking Problem

I had the same problem with Zone alarm even when I
disabled it. I had to uinstall before I could
succcessfully ping. Also check and see if your network
cards are set to different speeds/duplex via the configure
option in network properties.

I would go further and set both NICs to 10Mb/s to resolve the ping. If
the system works at 10Mb/s, then the wiring is certainly suspect.
