XP Pro networking in an office full on Win98SE computers

I can't seem to get this to work for all WIN98 SE
computers. Some show up on network places and some
don't. The shared folders ask for a password, but when I
enter the PW nothing happens. What's the secret I am
missing?

JB,

to access an XP Pro computer with Simple File Sharing disabled,
every user has to have an account on the XP computer.
