XP Pro Locking Files on 2000 Server

We recently switched a number of employees over from
computers running Windows 98 to new workstations running
Windows XP Pro. We are running a Windows 2000 File Server,
and the new workstations seem to be locking files on the
server. For example, one of our engineers will create a
drawing in AutoCAD and save it on the server. He will then
make changes and try to save the file and get an error that
the file is in use. This error will not go away until he
reboots his workstation. This also seems to be manifesting
itself as a problem with another application we use, called
Cabinet Vision Solid (for wood manufacturing). One of our
project managers will use the application and exit, and
then try to run the application again and get an error
message that access is denied (the application resides on
the server and requires a login). At this point, any other
users on the network trying to use this application will
get the same error message, as well. However, once the
project manager restarts his or her machine, all users are
once again able to run the application.

Is anyone aware of an issue with Windows XP Pro locking
files it is accessing on a Windows 2000 Server?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Jason Paul Johannes
