I have Win2000 installed on one HDD. I now want to install
a swedish XP Pro with Boot Magic dual boot on a second
new and larger 160 GB HDD. I have made a partition of
10GB for this installation by advice from Fred Langa,
Langalist. The setup starts, the computer restarts and the
blue screen starts to go through the hardware. Then I get
the message: "Setup cannot load the keyboard layoutfile
KBDUS.DLL. Setup cannot continue." When booting I have
three choices: Win2000 Pro, WinXP Pro (from earlier
attempts to install) and WinPro Setup. All help is
appreciated.

That is "keyboard US[A].dll file which is probably not on
your Swedish XP Pro (I could be wrong) but setup detected
you are using a US keyboard. Perhaps you can browse to the
file in some manner. Or can you find a Swedish keyboard?

My keyboard has all the swedish extended characters and I
have been using it with my english Win2000 for years
without any problems. The XP I am trying to install is
also english, not swedish as I wrote and the file
KBDUS.DLL is on the XP CD I want to install. However I did
choose swedish when I get the question sometime during the
install. I have tried this installation before and then I
got further in the installation, not being stopped by this
keyboard issue. That installation did not complete due to
some other reason I cannot now remember. What I would like
to do is to format this new HDD and begin all over. When I
try this from Windows I get the answer some disk utility
or other program is using this drive. I have tried to
close everything, Zone Alarm, Norton but it does not help.
I have also tried to format from Partiotion Magic without
any luck.
