I have a new copy of Windows XP Professional (SP2) that I would like to
install on my Lenovo laptop. My plan is to partition the HDD with a system
partition (C:), programs partition (D:), and data partition (E:). I would
like the default drive for new programs to be D and would like for the
Documents and Settings Folder for all users to reside on the E drive.

(During installation, I plan on just formatting the C drive leaving a large,
unallocated space. Once XP finishes installation, I'll go back using Disk
Management to create the D and E drives off the unallocated space.)

I've never messed around with editing the Registry so I understand I may be
able to do this using an "unattend.txt" file during installation. How can
this be done with the new Windows XP CD I purchased?

Thanks in advance.

Enjoy.

Shenan,

Thanks for the quick reply.

Do you think I'll have any issues specifying the new location for Programs
(D) and Documents and Settings (E) if those partitions aren't created until
AFTER I finish the XP installation?
