I am trying to install XP pro on a machine, and after the hard drive
formats, and the files copy to the hard drive, the system attempts to
reboot, and though it begins, it hangs on a blank screen. any ideas???

Thanks!

This did not correct the problem. Let me explain a bit clearer, and mybe
you can offer a different suggestion.

1. First, I boot from the CD with a new 120Gig drive installed.
2. I partition the 120 Gig drive to have a 40gig primary partition.
3. Following the XP prompts, I format the partition to NTFS.
4. After formating completes the XP installation copies the necessary files
to the HD.
5. The installation process attempts to reboot.
6. Upon rebooting, I see the normal POST and all drives are correctly auto
recognized.
7. The hard drive attempts to boot (the HD led flashes for about 5 seconds).
8. The hard drive stops flashing, and the screen is blank.

End of story. Any other ideas????????

Tried two hard drives, several video cards (PCI & AGP). No other cards are
installed.
