Hi Darren,
Formating the hard disk will destroy all programs and data on your hard disk. Be
sure to backup all of your important data and settings first
To format your hard disk, follow the steps below;
1. Be sure you have a backup of all your important data and settings.
2. Create boot disk. (be sure that fdisk.exe, format.com, mscdex.exe and the
driver for your CD-ROM are on the disk.)
3. Boot from floppy (you may have to change the boot order in the BIOS).
4. Run fdisk.exe and follow the on screen prompts to remove the current
partition than create a new one.
5. Run format.com using the /s switch so that the OS is installed on the hard
disk.
6. Create a new directory on the c: drive (ie. \cdrom )
7. Copy CD-ROM driver and mscdex.exe to the new \cdrom directory
8. Edit config.sys and autoexec.bat to point to the \cdrom directory
9. Re-boot
Ciao . . .
