We recently upgraded a significant number of computers.
The new ones are configured with XP Pro.
One of the computers is used as a local simplistic
server. Users have directories on it for file storage.
We have discovered that XP will only allow a maximum of
ten users to the 'server' at any one time.

Is this a registry parameter?
Win98se was seemingly unlimited in this respect .... 3-4
dozen people could access their files simultaniously
without concern.

How can we increase the number of users accessing this
single machine? (they all have xp pro)

Thanks ...

XP Pro is limited to 10 simultaneous connections.
XP Home is limited to 5 simultaneous connections.

Up to 74 simultaneous connections (provided the correct number of CALS are
purchased).. ... Windows 2003 Small Business Server
Unlimited Connections (provided the correct number of CALS are purchased)..
Windows 2003 Server family
