XP Pro & Dual Monitors

I have a couple of managers that use dual monitors extensively. But
they have monitor 1 set on the RIGHT and monitor 2 set on the LEFT
(using laptops and monitor 1 is the laptop monitor, monitor 2 is the
external).

Problem is that they have configured monitor 2 (laptop screen) to be
the primary montior, while monitor 1 is the (extended screen). When
they take off with their laptop, all is well, but when they RETURN,
the settings have reverted to 1 on the left, 2 on the right (primary).

Question is: Is there any way to "save" the settings .. that is keep
monitor 2 on the right and monitor 1 on the left? Or will they have
to keep re-configuring their setup?
