I am at my wits end. My HP laptop was giving so many problems with missing
dll files etc. that i had to format and re-load windows. This was/is such a
problem as when i boot up, before the installation, i get a message thatthe
lsass dll files did not load. I could acces my pc despite this, but i feel
this is part of the problem. On attempting to re-load windows, i get a
message as follows windowsXp setup\i386\winntupg\netupgrd\dll files are
missing. On top of this my CD Rom did not read CD's, so I could not boot from
cd, and i do not have a stiffy drive. I went to a PC shop where the guy used
an externat CD USB drive, and the setup also stopped after drivers load..
Just when it gets to; New installation, Repair or Quit screen, it switches
off, and the Laptop gets very hot at the fan outlet. The guy took out my
80gig harddrive and formatted it, it still failed to start- so i was on my
way with NO info. I do have a back-up so that is not the problem. I then
managed to take the hard drive, 80g as well from a laptop we stopped using
(power supply problem), as well as the cd rom. mine now reads the rom making
it possible to boot from CD. The installation STILL STOPS at -Load windows,
Repair or Quit - and the pc still gets hot. Is this a hardware problem, or
can I load Drivers, bearing in mind i now cannot start windows.
