I've seen other posts about this sort of thing and have tried enabling
netbios over tcp/ip and checking that the computer browser is running.

They both log into the same domain on a 2000 server.

The other can be pinged from the first.

The xp machine can see all the 2000 clients and an old win 95 machine.
The NT machine can see all the 2000 clients and the 95 machine.

From the xp machine, if you search for computers using the active
directory, the nt server is in the list.

From the NT machine, the xp machine is in the the server manager list
but if you select properties, it says the network path cannot be found

From the xp machine, if you go into 'run' and type the ip address, it
says the path cannot be found.

Has anyone got any clue as to what is going on - I'm stumped!

TIA

I just saw this on a website;

Can't access another computer - "\\PC is not accessible. The network
path was not found"

Symptom: In our domain, I as administrator can't browse to my PC from
the server and I keep getting "\\PC is not accessible. The network
path was not found" even I have enables sharing on the PC and I can
ping it

Resolution: You need to login once on the PC as the same logon ID,
administrator in this case, to establish the trust relationship
between the PC and the server.

Is there any way to set this manually as I have always logged into the
nt server with the same ID (administrator) as on the xp machine.
