Hello,

I have 2 systems on a DLINK wireless router. Desktop
(wired) is XP Pro and laptop(wireless) is XP home.

I can access the internet fine from both machines, but
cannot acccess network shares. Desktop can see the laptop
on the workgroup, laptop cannot see the desktop. I have
tried many things mentioned on this board, Guest
accounts, netbeui etc, and no luck.

Amy thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, forgot to include the error.

The error I'm getting is \\Laptop is not accessible. You
might not have permission..yada, yada.

The network path is not found.

Make sure both computers are on the same workgroup (go to
start, control panel, performance and maintenance,
system, then click on the computer name tab and look at
the workgroup name). Next, make sure you have the same
user accounts on each computer (same username and
password). This latter point is not crucial, but avoids
you from having to type it in. Also make sure that the
os built in firewall is disabled (go to start, control
panel, network and internet connections, network
connections, right click on local area connection and
select properties, click the advanced tab and uncheck the
box for the firewall). Hopefully this should work.
Also, check out the following website:

Good luck.
