Xp pro and Defender anti-virus/firewall compatibility

Hello out there" The first time that I installed the subject program
(anti-virus) the installation went well resulting in the proper red icon in
the system tray .I uninstalled for some reason and now all attempts to
reinstall result in a momentary white icon just to the left of the tool bar.
This apparently means that the program is not correctly installed and cannot
be launched. Does anyone else have this problem and / or a solution? I am
not running sp2 . I have a hardwhare firewall . I have uninstalled all other
security programs . Frank

Iam trying to use the Defender Pro Plus anti-virus/Firewall program (only
the anti-virus portion) Frank
