HI All,

A little desperate, trying to use the command line tool to attach to
my printers on my Novell NDPS broker. I can attach to the printers
without a problem ie rundll32 Printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /ga /in
/n\\BLAH\PRINTER.BLAH.BLAH, however I am getting prompted with a
message saying that I am about to automatically install printer
drivers and do I wish to continue. After clicking yes the
installation occurs and everything works fine.

How do I disable the confirmation, so that the entire process is
transparent to the user?

Thanks in advance.

Paul

You typically get this message when the machines are in a workgroup. If you
create a domain and join the machines to this then the popup goes away. I
am not sure how this works on the server with Novell.

You can use the prnmngr.vbs script that is available in the system32
directory of XP Pro systems to add a printer connection. This is a per user
connection not per machine. This script utilizes the WMI provider.

Is there anyway to change this behaviour, a policy for instance or can you
get the workstation to trust anything/all??

The prnmngr doesn't work when dealing with the Novell NDPS Broker :( Works
fine talking to Windows server etc.

Thanks

The only way to change the behavior is to join a domain. Then the policy
for trusting servers is honored. This functionality was added with Service
Pack 1.

I do not know what a Novell NDPS Broker is. You can try prnadmin.dll (but
can't set per machine connections) in the Server 2003 resource kit. You can
download from:
