I'm about at the end of my printer ribbon....
I've been trying to get my trusty HP 932C to work with my recently installed
XP machine. There are no printer drivers on it, the device manager doesn't
show any problems but when I try to install the software downloaded from HP,
it stops midway and says it can't find a setup file in the HP software. What
gives?

I don't know about the downloaded software, but Windows XP has a native
HP932c printer driver included.

Try installing the basic driver, then go to Windows Update and see if
there is an updated driver available.

I don't know if this is your answer. Disconnect the printer, THEN try to
install the drivers. Then reconnect the printer after shut down.
Everything HP that I've ever bought had to install this way.

Worth a try. Hope it helps....

Are you installing the corporate or home user version?
I'd install the home version by downloading it from here and trying it
again.
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/software/930-enu-xp.exe

I don't have the same model but when I got my HP the instructions said to
install the software before connecting the printer. You might try that.
