XP PowerPoint crashes

I need urgent help with my Office XP PowerPoint
presentation as I have to conduct presentation Monday
10/20/2003.
I open the PP presentation in "Slide Sorter view". I then
select this perticular slide and double click on it. This
slide has verious logo items for several individual
companies. The slide showes up on top of the presentation
and an hour glass icon indicates that an attempt to load
the logo items is being made. Then a microsoft message
pops up saying that the application will close, and gives
an option to send or not a message to microsoft. Then the
application closes and restarts atomatically.
This happens everytime I double-click this perticular
slide. Has anyone any idea what is the cause for this
behaviour? How to stop it from happening short of
reinstalling the Office XP suite?

Many thanks

Sounds like a slide is corrupted.

What happens if you open the pres in Normal view, and move through the
slides one at a time? It probably crashes at the logo slide, right? Can you
double-click other slides in this presentation from Sorter View?

Logos...what kinds of files are these logos, and how did they get placed on
the slide?

Hi John .O
Sorry, but the problem is in construction view. Ans to
your questions as follows:

1) Works ok in presentation view, but not in
construction view. Seems to be sensitive to imports of
logos, other immages.
2) Logo cut and pasted from web sites, not a problem on
W2000.
3) Yes, if you staff the all slides mode you can go
around the slide and other slides work ok.

Hope this is useful info.
Thanks

I had identical problem with same message. My org. file
was created with ppt 2002 and when I loaded the file on
my other machine with ppt 2000 it would hang on the same
slide and do as yours does. No problems on the ppt 2002
mach. I reinstalled the 2000 ppt and same problem on
same slide. The file had no iserted objects of any kind.
I uninstalled the 2000 and replaced with a different 2000
and file loaded with no problems.
Try your file on diff. mach with diff ppt. My problem
seemed to be with the ppt program and not my file.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

My OS on the machine is Windows XP. And I am running
Office XP on the same machine. When I open this ppt file
on ppt 2000 I have no problem!
