I reloaded xp from a new disk I purchased, and activated it, but now my
monitor is not working correctly. It is a KDS Xtreme Flat screen, the
manufacture says I do not need a special driver to run it. When I go to
display ,properties, monitor, it won't let me change it. Any ideas ?

Your video adapter drivers probably need to be reinstalled.
Visit the support web site of the manufacturer of your video
card adapter and download the latest drivers. If you have
an onboard video adapter, visit the support web site of the
manufacturer of your motherboard or computer to download
the appropriate Windows XP drivers.

Before installing them, uninstall the old drivers. In your
Control Panel, open the Add or Remove Programs applet
and look for your video drivers to uninstall.

If you happen to have a notebook computer, visit the notebook
manufacturer's support website to download the correct video
adapter drivers for your specific notebook model.

After installing a fresh set of drivers, right-click on your
desktop and select Properties > Settings, change the Color
Quality to "Highest (32 bit), then adjust your Screen Resolution
to your liking, then click on Apply.

Download and install the new ClearType Tuner Powertoy:

I have a new KDS K917 Flat Panel Monitor. I run Win XP Home Edition, and I
update it several times a week. Since installing the KDS monitor, everytime
the XP is restarted, I get an error message that says "Windows could not load
the installer for Monitor. Contact your hardware vendor for assistance." In
general the monitor seems to work okay. I tried downloading new drivers for
the monitor from KDS, when I go to update the driver after the download, I
get the same message. I tried downloading a new driver for the onboard
graphics controller an Intel 82845G/GL, after the download, I select run this
software, and I get the same error message. The device manager will allow me
to update any other driver in the system. It gives me the same error message
when trying to update the drivers for the on board graphics controller and
the KDS monitor. Is this a compatibility problem between the XP OS and the
K917 monitor.
