Hi.

We have several NT4.0 servers. We rebooted one a while
ago, and since then none of our XP Pro desktops can see
one of the NT servers listed under My Network
Places/Entire Network/Microsoft Windows Network. It is
always the same server the XP machines can't see.

However, I can do a search on the server by name and see
it and browse it. It just doesn't show up in the list of
servers.

I set it to not be the master browser in the registry on
the XP machines with no luck.

Thanks!

if you can search the server, it is possible master browser issue. use
browstat to check the status.

Thanks Robert. I used browstat and it didn't show any XP
machines as a browser, but it didn't show that missing NT
box as a browser either. It just shows the other NT
boxes. Does the NT server have to be set as a browser in
order to be seen?

If so, how do I do that?

Thanks.

in a NT network, you should have a master browser for the browsing. For more
