Yes XP can be installed over Vista.
I take it from your location you are in India ? Well Microsoft support 10 different Indian languages. Have a look here for your language. Hope this is of help for you.

i have cd of xp
but its not install due to vista

Go into BIOS and set your machine to boot fom CD first. Then insert CD and restart, your machine should now boot from the CD and allow you to install XP.

i did it but its not working !!!!!!
after some process it gives some fatal error
and exit from setup
 
Could you let us know what the error is you are recieving please ? We might be able to help from there. Also what sort of computer is it you are trying to install XP on..? Laptop or Desktop, make and model. Thanks

system: dell laptob
processor core2duo
ram 3 gb
systemtype 32-bit operating system
oprating system -vista home premium
i don't know the error what actually it is but i think i can't install lower version of operating system over higher
 
Got a friend who found he could not put XP over his Vista O/S due to the BIOS not seeing XP?

this is the exactly the problum
