I have windows XP and I cannot find the Outlook 'Out of
Office Assistant' on it. Its not even in the add-ins. Is
there an alternative or what should i do as i really need
to use this facility??

Thank you.

I assume you're really talking about Outlook and not Outlook Express...I say
this because you mentioned your Windows version, and Outlook has nothing to
do with your Windows version (whereas Outlook Express is installed with
Internet Explorer and therefore usually is present in Windows without you
having to install it separately). Anyway, assuming Outlook and not OE:

The Out of Office Assistant is only available if you are connected to an
Exchange server. You can spoof the OOA using the Rules Wizard, but Outlook
must be kept running in order for the rule to work. Look here for more
information:
