As to the subject of this e-mail. We have Eileens computer working with XP on it. We are having trouble getting her e-mail working. It keeps asking us to install Microsoft Office-small business version. Without that disk she has no address book and can't answer any e-mail.

Hi,

Are you currently using Outlook Express to check the mails. Since how long have u been sending mails and when did this problem start.

This is rather strange because Outlook Express is more than enough to support Hotmail and POP3 mail servers as well as read newsgroups.

In what way is it not working? Any error messages? Do you have it
configured properly? Do you have email scanning with your AV application
enabled? Is OE not the default email application?
Try this first :-
Go to Start | Run and type the following:
"C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE" /reg
(Check the path to msimn.exe to make sure that is correct)

Then open Internet Explorer and go to Tools | Internet Options |
Programs and set OE as the default mail (and news) program.
